Yesterday

Yesterday, I made Krupuk and ate too much before I realized it...you know I was watching TV and not monitoring my snack food intake.  This really plays fast and loose with any calorie count you "maintain".  It does not help when you are watching Breaking News.

Yesterday, a young friend of mine gave birth to a baby girl (their second) in a Washington D.C. hospital.  It went uneventfully and peacefully.  Life does go on.

Yesterday, my doctor responded to my complaint about a medication I am taking which has no effect on my chronic cough.  (The first week we tried one tablet twice a day and then three weeks later since there was little effect two tablets twice a day, and then last week, after my visit telling him the cough still happened 8 to ten times throughout the day and night, he upped it to three tablets twice a day.)  After my call yesterday he upped it to three tablets three times a day(!)...after which I will no longer comply if it does not work over the next ten days.

Yesterday, I remembered visiting the Capital on a tour with my parents one spring many years ago.  We were strictly required to stay in lines and areas and be quiet when in the Rotunda.

Yesterday, I wept and raged and sighed and was sorely embarrassed for our country.  I felt for those few police officers who were tasked with protecting the Capital building.  During the Black Lives Matter protest, the President called out the National Guard in full force and riot gear.  The President called those protesting at the Black Lives Matter Movement "criminals."  Yesterday he said he "loved" the "protestors" that violently broke into the Capital building.

Some Congressmen/women are calling for enacting the 25th Amendment.  My only response is "What the hell took you so long?"

  1. Indeed. Two weeks is way too long to have a madman in the Presidency. And the Congress needs a good cleaning out as well.

  2. Comparing the law enforcement events, the side by side timeline, indicates the law enforcement presence was increased last May into June 2020 in response to protester actions that warranted such an increase. I know it is not popular to question what is being said, but in my heart, yesterday being turned into a racial issue is upsetting to me. It takes away from the real issue of what hate is doing to America. Hate the Democratic leadership has been fueling against Trump before he took the oath of office! Establishing a hate atmosphere is on both sides. Thankfully on 20 January Biden will be our rightful and legal President.

    1. i compared Obama's 2008 acceptance speech and Trump's 2016 acceptance speech and the Republican President started out far more divisive and critical of the opposing party.

    2. Being controversial is Trump's shitck. The problem is he goes way too far. Few politicians are as suave, sharp and articulate as Obama.

  3. He's not sane.
Yes, will will be coming your way, or we can meet in the middle. :)

  5. I have nothing but disgust and contempt for the majority of the last four years, for that insane narcissist and his henchmen, in the WH, in Congress, in the citizenry (and this includes quite a few in my family). They all had their eyes and ears wide open and knew what was coming---

  6. It is hard for anyone to view, but it must be even harder for thinking and patriotic Americans.

  8. Tabor, yeah like last summer, during those riots, where block after block lay in smoking ruins.

  9. it's worse than that. the police were prevented from preparing for the attack and the DoD had instructions from the White House not to engage the National Guard and rumor has it some of the insurgents were in contact with the White House while they were in the Capitol. the Capitol police, at least some of them, were complicit, opening the barricade to let them in. off duty cops and members of the military also participated. they have another attack planned for the inauguration. they're very open about it discussing it on the right wing social media sites.

  10. I don't know what to say. Sue is representative of so many Americans, and I figure they only watch Fox and don't know any better.

    1. Yes, those "good old boys" who got a "little" excited left behind their liquor bottles, zip ties ad flag poles all with fingerprints. They also posted their little "revolution" on the social web sites. Their days are numbered. The zip ties were for hostage taking, but they were so stupid they did not realize Congressional Leaders would be whisked to safety. Cameras caught them all on computer so many will be facing jail time...all for their illustrious leader who may very well be facing jail time himself.

  11. I was happy to miss the News that night, it must have been an awful event to witness. For anyone, but especially Patriotic Americans. It's hard from this far away to understand how that crazy man can influence so many people, surely so many people can not be plain stupid. But he certainly knows how to grab and hold attention. I almost forgot to look up what Krupuks are. Hope you get that cough under control soon, it must wear you down.

    1. I was introduced to Krupuks in Indonesia. They are a fried shrimp chip. Very magical and addictive. Patriotism is to the country ... not the politician...but many do not realize this. This cough is extremely annoying and my only salvation has been the pandemic which keeps us home.

  14. I don't need or want to know, but I wonder if your medication is Neurontin aka Gabapentin. It seems to be the magical drug d'jour for every ailment from migraines (me) to seizures to neuropathy (also me) and OCD (again - me). LOL! And much more. And the medical doctors just throw more pills at whatever we have. Be well!

  15. It was our 48th wedding anniversary. We were planning to celebrate it happily and ended up spent more time watching the news and feeling anguish for our nation and embarrassed in front of the world.

  16. Hey, I'm going to change my Comment name in the future as I do NOT and NEVER HAVE supported Trump. I knew from the start that he was a bully and dangerous. He did not prove me wrong.

  17. Amazing to me that so many of our Lame Duck President's supporters don't seem to understand what he's doing does not support democracy, our constitution or law and order. Should he have his way and ultimately freedoms will be lost they may finally comprehend, but it will be too late. We'll all pay the price together, or future generations will, including those of us who have known all along what he was engineering and tried to prevent it happening.
