Curiouser and Curiouser

"I needed to compose you one little bit of observation to be able to give thanks again for those striking strategies you've shared above. It was certainly pretty open-handed of you to offer publicly exactly what most people might have marketed as an electronic book to make some profit for themselves, even more so considering that you could have tried it if you ever considered necessary. The secrets in addition acted like a good way to comprehend the rest have similar zeal like my very own to realize significantly more with regard to this issue. I'm certain there are thousands of more fun moments ahead for those who find out your site. holiday ideas on." (This was followed by a link to the blog.)

I allow immediate comments on this blog because I  usually am able to read them at that time.  After a week I have set my blog to prevent comments from being  published until I give approval as this is usually the time a "bot" or spam blogger posts something in the comments section.

This comment in quotes above was left on one of  my posts.  One would think "they" could write some routine post that at least makes enough sense to  make me curious to go to the link they add to  their blog.  This must have been written by a computer.  Strange....

  1. Even when you delay publication, knowing if a bot is involved can be tricky.

  2. Sometimes, they hit one post and even an old one. I can't remember if you can stop comments on that post.

    1. You can set moderation on your posts and then either mark it as spam (not sure that accomplished anything) or delete it.

  3. I keep getting a few of those, but usually they are not published. It's only now and then that one makes it through, and I delete it right away. That sure was a weird one, though. I read it three times and have no idea what it said. :-)

  4. They are why I put my blog to only with an ID (not hard to get). If I only had had one once in a while but there were so many and I felt they were taking up space in the internet world that they didn't deserve. They did get sneakier and sneakier with lots of compliments to sites I'd never check out as many are malware at the least. I lost commenters when I went to needing an ID but that was a price I had to pay to stop the garbage. It's neat that you get so many comments here and I enjoy reading them as much as blogs-- for the blogs that draw commenters

  5. I immediately delete any comment like the above when it is followed by a link. the 'comment' is usually poorly written and it's only purpose is to provide the link to their site. I do not allow anonymous comments because those are usually hate filled BS. at least in my experience.

  7. Yes I've had them too. Usually about six at a time on six different posts. I delete them and mark them as spam. Don't click on their links . It could be malware but mostly wanting you to buy something.

  9. I've recently changed to moderating all comments due to the increase in spam, and a rather nasty one that's been going around. Spam via phone is also out of control.
