Catching UP!

First, a big thank you to those who responded to my recent call for comments.  I now feel less ghostly!  I also get to add some new folks to my blogroll.  Second, the comment by Mage had me going, because she has a classic vocabulary.  Anyway the answer is "two mauve plastic plant pots" on the floor of the garage.  (If you do not know what I am talking about you have to read the comments.)  Third, I have been gone for three days taking care of a 5-year-old, a 9-year-old and an 11-year-old.  All went well...no stitches and  with the two being very active boys, I consider that a win.  The smoke alarm problem I wrote about before was a CO2 alarm dead battery problem located just across the floor and thus we spent $75 bucks having the electrician assist...although even he did not figure it out for quite some time. I also spent $30 on a new, and now unneeded, smoke alarm.  I am suggesting that smoke alarms and CO2 alarms should be required to have different tweets!!

My sciatica is kicking in which is rare but I still have to go out into the swamp today and help other volunteers with cleaning out the Wood Duck boxes.  Weather is calm and dry but will be in the low 40sC.  UGH.

I am still very depressed and angry at the election.  But we have met the enemy and he is us and we have only ourselves to blame for not seeing the deep seated frustration of this country's citizens and not holding our party's feet to the fire on fairness in selecting a broader band of candidates.  I WILL continue my fight on the issues of racism which has emboldened some very dark souls.  I will continue my outspoken belief that women do not get a fair chance in this country yet.  I will continue to write my representatives regarding the importance of our social programs that are on the agenda for being dismantled including Medicare which leaves many on fixed incomes with no alternative.

Now I am off to find some shoes that I do not mind getting muddy.

  1. You sound vastly better. I feel better and find that not reading or watching the news helps a lot. Have fun, I'm here doing sort of ok.

  2. Whew! You've been busy! I think being busy is good at a time like this. ;)

I'm depressed about the election as well. It is just so disheartening that those two candidates are the "best" that we could do. Really? In a country full of inspirational, genius, ground breaking hopefuls that is the best we can do? BLECH! And listening to everyone online is depressing as well. We will never get anywhere if we can't even speak respectfully to each other. And both sides are guilty of it. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I've always hated politics.

    ANYWAY...
I hope your sciatica feels better soon. This warmer weather is to be enjoyed and that is hard to do when that sciatica is acting up.

  3. For some reason, your blog is not updating like it used to :(. I think the dems owe more to the loss for trying to make sure Hillary got it by Super Delegates, managing debates when not likely to be seen, and then the media with its not covering Bernie. They wanted her so badly that they ignored her baggage, and she had it for those not on the far left. A lot of us voted for her anyway but not happily. I do not think she lost because she was a woman. The ones who had that problem were never going to vote for a Democrat period. Now those feeling depressed need to look at the issues the left thought would win and figure out why now out of 50 states only 5 have a Democratic governor and legislature. I think the party lost track of the working people and thought they did not need them. It is said Bill Clinton tried to tell them but Hillary told him that was the old way. The new way is globalism. One world and even no states. That's not what the middle of the country thinks. I had one far left friend who said the middle of the country is in a bubble. I didn't try to reply to her as she is grieving also but most people are in bubbles where all they know are those who think and vote like they do. It's easier than having left and right wing friends.

  5. I wake up every morning or in the middle of the night and remember than Trump will be president like I remember someone is dead. I think there are a number of reasons why and blame to go around.
