Going through old e-files on my desktop and cleaning out the detritus I came across a file created in August of 2015 called Resolutions. I rarely write lists of resolutions, but I must have been bored on this hot August day:
RESOLUTIONS
Dance in the rain
Write one complete short story
Write a poem adhering to some strict form--not free form
Enter a serious photography contest
Read about France for our upcoming trip
Call about the Adult Education Program
Oh well, I got two of them done!
There is still time.
ReplyDeleteThose remaining four seem so achievable. Go for it! I did Nanowrimo in 2015 - wrote over 50,000 words in a month. I haven't looked at the "novel" since - I just wanted to see if I could do it.
ReplyDeleteI might have called it a to-do list but I rarely make those. only when I have lots of things I need to do in a day or two or am making a run in to the city for supplies and errands.
ReplyDeleteI used to do resolutions although I called them goals. The last one was for 2010. I am not sure why I stopped. After reading your blog, I glanced down that one to see how I did. I think I changed a lot that year. My goals now would be totally different. I had a quote at the top though that I still like-- "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." DeAngelis
ReplyDeleteAdd them to a new list and get to work. You can do it.
ReplyDeleteTwo is better than none. Dancing in the rain shouldn't be too hard, not that I've done it.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Call it a pass. Last year I did a major audit of my life and in a sense made 12 resolutions. Glad I did it. Glad it's over!
ReplyDeleteIf you still want to do the others, go for it. If not, maybe find other things to resolve to do.
ReplyDeleteDance in the rain is pretty easy to do. I don't think I've ever done it or wanted to. But if Aretha Franklin's RESPECT started playing, I would!
ReplyDeleteI have danced in the rain with my chickens before. It's a long story. You win writing and photography prizes every day on your blogs.
ReplyDeleteI like that first one and think I might do that next time it rains. That would be tomorrow. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like that list. I too don't do lists, but that one has possibilities.
ReplyDeleteThere's still time, especially since I don't see a timeline attached. :)
ReplyDeleteThis could be crafted into a poem. :)
ReplyDeleteGood idea...maybe I will do this!
DeleteIf dancing in the drizzle would work, I could do that in Hawaii. :-)
