This is the season of peace in our country. We claim to be a Judaeo-Christian culture, but I am not sure anything from that religious history supports the violent rhetoric spewing from our leaders right now. Above are two of my three grandchildren at a very peaceful location wondering at the vastness of our planet and the lovely way their days of fun come to an end. I am trying hard to get out of this cloud of bitter, angry, sadness that follows me from room to room now that I am home. I am trying hard to think positive about the future for these children as we slide into war. So, I retreat into my photography to paint pictures of fantasy to share with you.

Season of Peace

What a breathtaking photo. Surely, even in these unsettled times, most people in the world also hope for peace.
ReplyDeleteArt in one form or another is very healing. It's especially important when we really can do nothing about the situation in the world.
ReplyDeleteAlways, always, beauty in the midst of ugliness. I am constantly amazed at our species, at once so capable and so foolish.
ReplyDelete“It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it”
ReplyDelete- Eleanor Roosevelt
Beautiful Tabor. Art does heal and inspire, I believe that's why along with destroying people, the terrorists destroy art and literature as well. Thanks for bringing the beauty of your work for us to see.
ReplyDeleteI am appreciating Bill for his Eleanor Roosevelt quote.
ReplyDeleteYour photo sends a little peaceful intention out to the world.
Peace will remain elusive as long as there aren't enough people who truly want it.
ReplyDeleteYes. The children.
ReplyDeleteNot much to add; not sure what we can do except go on with our lives as best we can. We can control very little it seems, but we do what we can, and love the ones we have.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Mike
I agree with Eleanor Roosevelt's quote and this is another reason I think she should be the woman chosen to be printed on our money.
ReplyDeleteThose politicians who want war, should send their children into battle. Trump has three able bodied adult children; why don't they fight for his distorted and hateful beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThat is one very wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteI am aware of all of the hate talk and fear mongering. I read editorials, follow politics, and read horrid comments on Facebook just to know what's out there, but I will not let it linger in my mind. My goal is to strive for inner peace and spread those peace vibes to those near me. How else can I have any positive effect at all?
Tremendous photo, and tremendous sentiment. It does feel like we're on the verge of a new kind of world war.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo. I love the beach because it's like a clean slate. I can't believe the latest coming from Trump and how so many seem to like it. He is so full of himself that maybe he'll implode.
ReplyDeleteThat photo is incredibly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hate to suggest not paying attention to the politicians and paying attention only to you and yours. Yes, that photo preserves those peaceful moments forever. I've been humming Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance."
ReplyDeleteHow can we not worry about our children and future generations, I wonder? Too many heads in the sand in this land... in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteOur so called "world leaders" do not speak for me. They speak for the media who are simply a minority with the loudest voice. I have faith in our children to call those voices to credibility.
ReplyDeleteIt is baffling to me how many in this country are supporters of Trump. How is that even possible? It just reminds me how many truly stupid people there are in this world.
ReplyDeleteI get bogged down too. Depressed and angry. But it is my own personal faith that gives me hope. And I do feel that there are more good people in this world than bad. It just seems to be the bad ones that get the press. Good people are all around. We just need to open our eyes and hearts to see and accept. This world will never be a peaceful world because humans can be stupid and selfish and downright evil. But there is beauty and love and kindness all around us too.
Beautiful photo! I see hope.
Wishing you peace, Tabor.
The US has become a very scary place. I've had to do the same, dive into being creative.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand. I worry about my children and theirs to come. I'm appalled by what I hear. How no one stands above the fray and says "Hey! This ain't right."
ReplyDeleteDelving into your work is a good idea. Calm in the creative. I seek that release also.
Did I say thank you for this? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteawesome pic! n thoughts too- I'm not too worried about the grandkids future yet- except they will never know nature as I do. Yep, the party's over!
