Alright, already.

You asked and thus you shall receive...you little Halloween ghouls!  Sorry there isn't more black and bluesing for your blood lust.  (And, yes, the glitter toenail paint was on long before the accident.  If you look closely you will see the legs have not seen a razor in weeks!)

I managed to be on my feet for two hours this afternoon at a volunteer training session.  I am now resting up, but I am getting there little by little.

  1. Well that is still a lot of swelling...I'm glad your feet are up ;)

  2. Wow! You really took a hit. Sorry it happened, don't rule out getting an x-ray if the swelling doesn't go away fairly quickly - lotsa bones in our hands and feet; they're complicated. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

  3. My oh my! No bruises, amazing, something is leaking though, that's a lot of swelling. Be good to yourself. You are quite a trooper.

  4. You are the first person I thought of when I took my fall in the goat pen this week. Oh bless your heart. I am glad you are on the mend and I am relieved I didn't sustain such an injury myself

  5. Looking better, Tabor, and you will be upright for hours at a time in no time at all. Be careful though and DO take things easy. I love the glittery nail enamel...

  6. That is a impressive amount of swelling. Take care. have a friend come over and paint each toe nail a different color. Then you can sit and admire while you mend.

  7. I agree, that is a lot of swelling....hope it doesn't hurt as much as it swells. Good luck.

  8. Oh, you poor thing! That had to have hurt!

Best wishes that you wake up one morning (SOON) and the swelling is all gone.

Hang in there....maybe movies? I liked:

"The Conspirator" with Robin Wright and James McAvoy

"An Education" with Carey Mulligan and Peter Sarsgaard

"The Way Back" with Jim Sturgess and Ed Harris

"Like Dandelion Dust" with Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper

and "Paul" - it's just goofy.

  9. Sometimes bone fractures do not show up on X-ray until the bleeding separates the pieces, or even when a healing bone callus starts to form. Boy, it looks sore, hoping for the best for you Tabor, that looks uncomfortable and I know it is messing with all the things you like to do.

  11. Oh ouch. I'm glad you were up and about for a couple of hours, but also glad that you have the sense to put your feet up. Take care!

  13. Oh dear...if this is the swelling after a week, I can't imagine what that poor foot looked like immediately afterward (even with its pretty polish). I'm really oozing sympathy. Truly.

  15. Keep doing all you are
except stay off of it more.
    Thinking of you
I did something simlar 10 years ago and did not stay off of it.
My ankle did not heal like it should. My crooked ankle - now no special pretty shoes :)

  16. That's a lot of swelling for a week later. Perhaps an x-ray is in order? My son once had a broken foot which we only discovered with an x-ray, it was very swollen. He claimed it never hurt much. Best wishes!

  17. I looked and my eye went right to the right foot and my mind said 'nice foot' and then I noticed something was wrong 'oh, not so nice foot!" It was like looking at a paradox.

That is one mean sprain. I had one once but it did not swell to that degree!

  18. owie owie owie! I've been catching up on blog posts (time has been elusive lately) and just read your previous posts about the accident, the wish list, and your sojourn into the countryside. I imagine that poor woman and her daughter might have suffered just as much in years before. You're right about many folks just not seeing how wrong their decisions can be... and yet, having tread those poor boards myself, I know that sometimes you just can't see any good choices.

  19. They look like feet belonging to two separate people. Hope it continues to improve at a good rate.

  20. You're very lucky to have avoided the bruising. Mine looked like it belonged to a cadaver, it was so blue. And black toes. I hope you keep healing.. surely and not too slowly.
