Superfluous or Tabor Who?

Yes, I have been absent. No, not on travel. I have been lying in bed and coughing my head off for weeks. I did not get a cold, or flu...no fever, joint aches, sinus problems. I had loss of appetite, but seemed to be eating well!  No one seems to know (or care?) what is making me cough and cough. Finally, it did morph into a virus thing in the lungs and I sounded as if I had been smoking my whole life. I could not get in to see my doctor, but saw a backup and got some meds to ease symptoms. Needless to write, I was not getting much sleep. Then a few days ago it all started to heal maybe due to the meds and helping me sleep regularly and soundly. Very slowly, I might add, the symptoms diminished.

Yes, I have an appointment with an ENT specialist, but I am not optimistic or even pessimistic that he will find a solution even if he does cram some camera object down my throat.  I am just glad to be up and walking around and on the mend.  Going shopping today for food and supplies in the event we lose electricity with this impending storm.

Anyway...just if you missed me.  If you did not, that is OK also.  I am not the center of my own attention, even.

I did a photo painting this morning for the first time in days...taken back in mid-August.

  1. Welcome back. I missed you, and I am delighted to read that you are mending. Well, if it wasn't a cold or the flu, could it have been an allergy attack. Just a thought.

  2. Prayers for healing
A cough of the unknown is difficult to deal with. I didn't recall having such a mystery. It went away as if it hadn't been. My guess is spider bites I had a few weeks before be cause they were the only unusual event I had. Could be a bite inside the mouth? Weird, I know, but not unreasonsble.

  3. I am glad to read that you are getting better. I went through something similar to what you are suffering. It lasted for months. I thought it had to do with my allergies at first, then It became a sinus infection, and finally bronchitis. I could not stop coughing violently. The doctor told me that the very bad stress that I had at the time contributed to it. Acid reflux often causes a cough also. Thankfully, time and medication made me better.

  4. That is a beautiful sky, I don't know what a photo painting is but I like it. I hope you are well and those symptoms do not recur.

  6. Yes, i miss you, and any of my friends who don’t show up for a while. The thing is, i don’t like to pry, people quit posting for a variety of reasons, and sometimes they just want privacy or want to drop out and not be bothered. My job, to me, is to be a friend who gives them that freedom.

As for the coughing, have you checked to see if you have any reflux? GERD can manifest as coughing that won’t go away.

  7. Oh yes I have missed you and checked in daily to see if you had written a post. When I started blogging about 12 years ago you were the first one to respond. Get Well and Stay Well. Not good heath here by the woods.

  10. Glad you are better now and have returned to blogland. Anything unexplained medically can be very worrying, you seem to be coping with it very well. I always think people must be recovering when they start playing with their camera, or photos, again.

    1. Yes, Pauline. You know my addictions and I have had not interest in the camera until today!

  11. Could be GERD, could be post-nasal drip, could be allergies, could be something else. Hopefully they're figure it out ... I had one of those cameras slipped down my throat (They go thru your nose, can you believe it?!?) last fall. Anyway, glad you're feeling better.

  13. Tabor, coughing is a sign of so many possibilities that it would be difficult to guess. I've been coughing for 18 years... ever since my radiation for BC. They call it a radiation cough due to irritation of the lungs or the buildup of fluid around the heart due to the radiation. It's just there. But of course you should have it checked out... as coughing can be a heart problem, TB, even a symptom of aspiration due to early Alzheimer's. I know yours is probably just a virus you picked up and is on the mend, but I would have it checked out.

  15. Sorry you were feeling down but glad you are back :) Often they never do find a reason for what goes wrong. The big thing is that it gets better.

  21. I was also missing for a time too. So much going on. Sorry to hear you were sick. That’s no fun at all. It sounds like some kind of bronchitis thing. I was dealing with sick grandchildren this summer.
