Well, I can totally relate have just been through this myself. 1979 I had a two yr. old and an infant. I don't remember Claudette so you must not have been in Houston but one of the coastal communities.
What a harrowing tale. I cannot image going through such turmoil and especially with small children. Does your daughter ever talk about the fish under the breakfast table?
What an experience. You may now be glad of it (or not), but you'd never wish to repeat it.

ReplyDeleteYou are all brave! What an ordeal.
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on the Texas flood post. Today and then had a moment of melding.
We’ve been through it, more than once. It’s awful.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! What an awful thing to go through. You are so very brave and strong.
ReplyDeleteI am just amazed at the uglyness of it all for you all. I hope the water isn't coming up there. Fingers and toes crossed.

ReplyDeleteNot so much these days...but it left its impression many years ago.
DeleteMore than unpleasant! Wouldn’t want to repeat that event.
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me. Just for you, I post two pictures from my flood.
ReplyDeleteBoy I bet those fish did.
ReplyDeleteIn two days, I have no notes on my flood entry. Could you check for me and see if it is there? Thank you.
