I cannot in all good conscience leave France without some broader more traditional less contextual examples of what wonderful things can be seen in this country. Only seven photos were selected from 2,250 that I took. I deleted away another 600 or so before I even started! As a photographer I really want to share some of the diversity of this place and I hope you have patience with my interest. I also hope you enjoyed visiting France vicariously or returning vicariously, whatever the case may be. I have no immediate plan to return, but who knows... (As always, click on the photos for a closer view.)
Oh so dreamy. Postcards.
ReplyDeleteFrance has a bad reputation in most quarters in the US, but I've been there for work a lot (mostly Rhone Country, Lyone, etc) and find the country captivating. Parisian food is over rated but country food, based on the freshest ingredients never seems to disappoint. It's a beautiful place. You're fortunate to have had the time and space to enjoy it and breathe it in.
ReplyDeleteEach picture is breath taking and captivating its in own way. I loved them all, had seven favorites right in a row.
ReplyDeleteWhen i went, it was highlight tours and we mostly saw Paris, and the countryside from trains. You make me want to go back and see the countryside up close.
ReplyDeleteYa dun gud, fellow foto phreak.
ReplyDeleteWe did manage to get some good pictures when in France, but we had never ending rain on our visit there. Lovely pictures from you.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. My father spent lots of time in France in his later years, and took my eldest daughter to Paris when she graduated in 2004. As for me, sigh... Nope.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had some wonderful excursions into the countryside. Your selected seven are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou captures some wonderful places, and I can feel the essence of France in them.
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful. Please don't stop posting pictures you like. Perhaps you can say one thing while talking of another. That way I get my pictures out into the world while having my say. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, if we lived nearer to each other, we would be happily traveling the local good stuffs with cameras in hand.
We have a house guest right now who is a Frenchman, and not just any old Frenchman but a Frenchman from Paris. I will show him the pix & he will tell me where they are, I hope.
ReplyDeleteOh HOW to choose just a few photos out of so many? It seems impossible. But you chose very wisely. These pics show the charm, the history, the mystery, the romance of France. Some of the photos are quaint and some are majestic. Just lovely, lovely pics. Thanks for sharing them with us. I would definitely love to go back to France someday. :)
ReplyDeletelove the old well and the bridge to nowhere.
ReplyDeleteI think that you have captured much about what I enjoy about France. I'm not fond of Paris, but the architecture, there and elsewhere, is delightful, and the countryside -- I could wander for days through it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, serene shots of France. Maybe you'll have to share a few more in the future?
ReplyDeleteOh my! These are glorious photos. We take a lot of photos too and should learn to delete before we back them up. Sigh...
