Who Is Your Hero?

I took one of those stupid Facebook quizzes the other day.  I usually avoid these because I think there is a Russian hacker behind each quiz who gathers your answers and uses them for data to steal your/my ID in some new way to be used in the future.  Maybe he will use the data to get ID on my grand children!   But, this time I was bored and took the quiz.  The results always make you sound better than you are, so most people like the reward they get for answering stupid questions.  Anyway, this is what I got.

You're an Idealist! Idealists are abstract and compassionate day dreamers, activists, writers, diplomats, counselors and healers. You're the magician or medicine man of all the personality types. You're a deeply emotional and abstract thinker with cooperative and communitarian goals. You long for deep, meaningful relationships and you constantly contemplate how you can help the common good. You're guided by strong personal ethics, and you often have an ideology, cause, or way of viewing the world that you take very seriously. You're easy going until someone challenges your values, at which point you can be the fiercest of opponents. At heart, you're a natural healer with a great depth of empathy for those around you. As an Idealist, you're in impressive company! Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Princess Diana, and Oprah are all famous examples of Idealists! Do you feel more like Gandhi or Oprah? Let us know!

Since Gandhi is one of my all time heroes, I guess they got it right this time.  Of course much of what is written above can apply to all of us.

  1. I never can resist those tests and even the ones about how well do you know English or are you easily fooled. I keep thinking I will, maybe thinking someone is stealing my info might help :).

Idealist sounds pretty accurate for what i know of you though, from blogs.

  2. I avoid all those quizes, and I do not repost those "Repost if you hate cancer" things. I don't know how, but someone is making money off the traffic driven to them.

  3. I don't take those tests although so many people I know do (and they always come out sounding great... so you may be right about the ego thing). Something about them makes me wary.

  4. I don't take those either, well, once in a blue moon. you know all the results will be generic and positive.

  5. My husband likes these tests and I don't for many of the same reasons you said. He convinced me to try one and lo and behold, we came out exactly the same. I knew then that these tests are crap.

  6. The first person that comes to mind is Abraham Lincoln. He was president at such a difficult time, but persevered and lost his life.

  7. I'm often surprised at some of the folks who habitually take those tests and post the results. I will take one occasionally but tend to keep it to myself. I mean.. who could resist finding out what their hippie name might be? ;)

  8. Some of these tests are fun, but i don't do them often and haven't in quite a while.

It's rather like your horoscope, i think -- most of it can apply to almost anyone.

  9. That actually sounds a lot like you.
Those goofy tests are kinda fun sometimes.

  10. I agree with you about those tests. After doing a few I decided no one could be as perfect as me and stopped while I was on top. But then, just last week, I succumbed again and did a personality test based on inkblots because I've always found them interesting. And guess what? I was warned I could be schizophrenic! I laughed all day until I thought about the person who got that result and believed it! I'm cured again.

  11. I don't know. You sound a tad skeptical for an Idealist.

  12. The results of those tests are like messages in fortune cookies; sometimes they apply and sometimes they don't. I took a test to tell me what color I was and the result---white.

  13. Tabor, I had a friend who is no deceased who claimed to be a psychic. She was incredibly accurate, but as you mentioned, a lot of what she said could be applied to almost anyone. Fun, though.

  14. I'm a sucker for those tests, because they almost always conclude that you are better than you really are ... and who doesn't need a little morale boost now and then!?!

  15. At one time I worried about identity theft and used pseudonyms on my blog. I am still careful about my last name on all but FB, and my contacts are somewhat limited. Having acknowledged that, out of the millions and millions of people on the web, with many very rich and famous and really out there, I can't fathom why anybody would target me and mine.

  16. I'm like rain, I can't resist them either. I refuse to post the answers tho. My small revolt. Are you home?

  17. I do take a few of those tests, but I have retaken some of them out of curiosity with slightly different answers and gotten different results. The basis of the results is very shallow, and the descriptions are pretty shallow.
that given, I think there is a lot of truth in your result.

  18. That's even more uplifting than a horoscope reading! Well, we can all use an occasional boost, even if sources are questionable...

  19. I sometimes take the tests, but don't like to give out my results. LOL.. Recently took a correct word usage test and scored an A+. WooHoo!!! Next person who took it said it was so simple even an idiot could get an A.

  20. So you worry about Russian Hackers too? That is a comfort!
