Questions

So I have been asking myself that deep philosophical question posed to me by some of my readers in respondes to the prior post.  Why did I not react as they would have?  What was holding me back?  Was I afraid to admit my mistake?  Am I the type of person that plows onward even if the plow is now turning soil in another field?  Was there some issue I saw in their approach that would be more negative than positive?  Had I some insight that they were not able to understand?  Was this a political issue?  I thought long and hard on this.  And the only reason, which did not come to the forefront of my mind at the time, but was probably deep in my subconscious lobe, was frugality.  Who would wash away down the drain so much sugar?  Cups and cups of that expensive and important ingredient?

Maybe I am overthinking this...but who knows.

  2. LOL...No overthinking here, you just ate it. I would wash those gallons and gallons of sugar down the drain unthinkingly. Frankly, I find thinking get's me in more trouble than sugar. LOL

  4. I have to confess I did not finish your previous post as I thought it was just a normal pie recipe.

I have mistaken season salt for cinnamon...not good. I can't imagine apple pie with Old Bay!

Isn't that how Penicillin was invented?

  5. It could be that you are a better gambler than others. You hedged your bets. I would have washed them off and started again, thinking that if I made the pie and it tasted bad I would lose even more good ingredients! I am frugal about wasting money and food too! But also sensitive to taste and not much of a gambler.

  6. Last night I served a seven-layer salad, which starts with a layer of lettuce, then lots of veggies, then a layer of mayo and sugar, then cheese and bacon bits. The problem is that if it isn't all eaten when served, it doesn't keep very long...get's soggy. So today, I had to dump some of it. All that good food in the garbage. Ugh!

  8. I have to respond to Linda Kay. You need to get some chickens. They would have loved that leftover salad!

Tabor, I found myself telling about your pie incident at the Senior Center yesterday. It made a lot of folks feel better about themselves. LOL
