Two photos

This old cherry was dying little by little and now with a push from the storm seems to have just missed that budget arbor we put in.
Here are three of our neighbors who came by to help and get that big tree cut into movable pieces so that we could get out of the driveway!

  1. Holy mackerel - that's a big tree! Oh my - the word verification is humble. I guess Mother Nature can really humble us, can't she?

  3. It's sad to see those grand old trees down, but if ones thinks about it, it is nature's way of making way for the new ones that would otherwise be blocked from the sun by their wonderful shade. Making way for a new generation!

  4. Hopefully you will be able to make good use of the beautiful wood.

  5. Is that your only casualty?
You'll have plenty of firewood for winter.

  6. That's a big one. The oak that fell on our house is very tall (60+') but not very big around (approx. 14" d)

  7. Glad you're okay, and what super neighbors!

  8. We have wonderful neighbors like that around here. When we lived in the city, no one would come to help. I wasn't much better at helping them either. After Ron and I married, he ran around helping everyone and they didn't know what to think of my "country boy".

  9. Like some of your other commenters I hope you can use the wood. It's sad to lose a tree.
