This is a gift my husband brought me recently on his return from a long trip halfway around the world. Can you guess what it is? Scroll down below for a better clue.
Now do you know? Not sure how I will use it nor how to keep it fresh! That is a lot!
Without the second picture I would have had to guess some kind of red clay pipe. Yes, I know what you received as a gift. I am beginning a potion of that (in powder form) and honey to start my day for all kinds of promised health benefits:)
ReplyDeleteCinnamon!! I would use it to flavor hot tea or coffee. I keep mine in an airtight plastic container and it still smells fresh after a long time.
ReplyDeleteYep, I guessed it right. Enjoy! Not a big fan, but my daughter loves the stuff in (on) everything.
ReplyDeleteIs it cinnamon?
ReplyDeleteI know this pleased you :-)
ReplyDeleteFun picture puzzle. Mmmm, I can just smell it. I put cinnamon sticks in my hot chocolate in the winter.
ReplyDeleteah cinnamon! Store it in an airtight glass jar to keep fresh for a full year. Storing in the fridge is ok but not necessary.
ReplyDeleteCinnamon is SO good for us --along with honey... WE use both on our cereal each morning.... BUT--I love having a cinnamon stick in my hot cider at Christmas time.... YUM!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I keep my cinnamon sticks in a glass jar. Mix it with hot water for cinnamon tea! Put it in with chicken when you bake it. Peaches and syrup and cinnamon sticks in a jar make a lovely dessert.
ReplyDeleteOr you can put some of those sticks in your linen closet or in your unmentionables drawer to make you smell subtly of cinnamon!
What a wonderful and aromatic gift!! Keep it sealed up and the scent will last and last!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy
Hugs
SueAnn
ah - that's cinnamon!
ReplyDeleteyou can just store it in a glass and i use it when i fry rice - just break it to pieces and fry with onions, gloves and cinnamon - then put the rice in - some vegetable and chicken - very nice - and when it's cooked you have to remove the gloves and cinnamon pieces
very unique gift...
ReplyDeletecinnamon!
ReplyDeleteCinnamon is for Christmas, for baking (ground up) and leaving around the house in little bundles, or hanging from the Christmas tree.
Rice Pudding with cinnamon sprinkled on the top was a childhood favourite too.
keep it in a tin. or use it now and buy some more; it's not expensive and always useful.
I was totally off! Couldn't think why he would bring you rusty pipes.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice gift.
Ah, fresh cinnamon, a spice for the Gods.
ReplyDeleteI would just enjoy it. :)
ReplyDeleteCinnamon Sticks! YUM in some coffee, some cocoa. What a lovely gift! At the very least it will make your room smell wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that I knew what it was from the first photo.. mostly because I have a few sticks of it .. and am never sure just what to do with it.. aside from enjoy it in Chai.
