As most readers know I am not a religious person, but do enjoy the lovely holiday music that has come about for Christmas. Here is a tongue in cheek version of monks singing The Hallelujah Chorus---one of my favorites!
I definitely would not call myself a "religious" person but I am a person of Faith and am as inspired by these high school kids performance as I am by the photographs in your previous post. Both speak to me as proof of a higher power.
RYN: Yes, tho links in my brain are scrambled from my stroke, I cried despite the scrambling. It's the quality of writing in that she makes these sisters real. Marmee was a faded person, but the father was real. Beth was too real, modeled on a real sister who died. Perhaps we do not feel such a link to Professor Bhaer because he was not modeled on someone she cared for.....Just a thought.
no religion going here either but I absolutely adore sacred music, from the earliest Gregorian chants and Hildegarde of Bingen to operatic or classical 'religious' music.

ReplyDeleteWith there hoods up like that they more reminded me of the Grim Reaper than monks.
ReplyDeleteI got that one in an email - it's very good!
ReplyDeleteTabor do you have relatives/friends in Raleigh? If you come back, please let me know so we can plan to meet and have lunch or coffee.
Kenju I will let you know, but have no relatives there and currently no plans traveling in that direction...but one never knows!
ReplyDeleteTabor, the things you can't find on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing. And funny, and still managed to be inspirational!

ReplyDeleteSo criative too!
Now that's talent! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I'm sure it was a challenge to learn and fun at the same time.
Well, I might just have to steal this. I went on and watched a bunch of other similar Youtube videos--but this was the best!
ReplyDeleteMe too.. not really religious.. but oh! how I enjoy festival celebrations! The joy and merriment are infectious.
ReplyDeleteI've got to send this one on to friends and family. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteA great one!

ReplyDeleteStill trying to download the music in your post.
stupid me, I was clicking in the wrong place.
ReplyDeleteVery funny. Are they Trappists?
Having said what I said in the earlier post, the Hallelujah Chorus is not one of my favourites.
This must be the most popular video on the Internet. I have received it three times, sent it out to others, and it is on 3 blogs. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThey're not monks. They're Sand Crawler people.
