The Hotness Factor

Still tripping over my feet on that Memory Lane which has become somewhat overgrown with a large tangle of aging vines. When you are hot, you are hot. When you're not, you're clearly not. What more can I say? I rarely would consider turning back the clock on my life, but if I could have this day over again I think I would. I really look so 'full of it' in this photo. It was a perfect fall day, I had a brand new car (yes, that is an actual car and not a toy) and freedom. I am sure that I felt I had the world by a string and could wrap it around my finger. Innocence is sometimes too underrated.

  4. No, JarieLyn) that car was one of the cheap little sports cars made in the 1960's. It was a Datsun.

  5. What a neat car. You had a right to look 'full of it.' You were pretty and to own a red convertible on top of it, well -- Whoo Hoo!

  6. That picture could be an ad.

Datsun penned some lovely designs back in the day. Happy sigh...

    Nice car too!

Did I told you that I love your text, your narrative, principally when you talk about maturity?

  8. So many of your posts leave me pondering...and I agree, innocence IS underrated. What a wonderful picture of you --- in all of your innocence---and an awesome car! :)

  10. The person who took the photograph was my roommate during my first year of teaching. We were both teachers in the same part of Colorado.

  11. Yes, yes, yes......I know that moment well. My 1600 was just that shade of red, and on the bench seat were two small kids that hated riding there.

I loved my red SPL311 to distraction. As my marriage disintegrated, I put all my energy into my little red car.

Oh, how wonderful you look. :)

  15. Tabor, re your comment on my book rec: it isn't depressing at all. I am very sentimental when it comes to first loves and the book reminded me of that. It has a sad part near the end, but as I said it is bitter-sweet.

  16. I thought you were a movie star. I once drove a baby blue Karman Ghia (my boyfriends, not mine).

  18. Great picture, Tabor. It brings a smile to look back on days like that, doesn't it? You look terrific (yes, very Audrey Hepburn), and the car is so cute. I had a little red VW :)
What did you teach...if I may be so nosy?
