Weeding and Reading

I am on the road once again or I guess I should say plane. The daughter was allowed to select the destination for a family vacation (her one side of the family) and she selected St. Kitts in the Caribbean for a week.

I am finishing packing today and will be on the flight tomorrow. In a grass is always greener virus mode, I really want to stay home and weed and read. See, even those of us who can afford to travel are not always as happy and mellow as you would think!  Being a bit jaded on travel is someplace I never thought I would be.

At least I will get to spend some time with the grands who are now slowly moving away from me as they connect daily via phone with near and distant friends.

  1. Ah yes. Grandchildren expanding their horizons. It's how it goes.

  2. I hear you about getting jaded regarding travel anywhere. But still, where you are going and will be visiting with are both splendid! :-)

  3. have just been gone for three weeks, I don't think I can get excited about travel for a while yet. I would love to go work out in the garden except it's just too damn hot and it's not even high summer yet.

  4. Enjoy your time with them-- you're right, they get busy with their lives and it gets harder. I am with you though and glad not to be traveling right now. It's nice sometimes to be planted somewhere.

  5. I have lost the desire to travel too. Time with the grandkids sounds perfect.

  6. Those kids are just flying away from us. I grab the time with them whenever I can.

  7. Enjoy your trip and being with grand children. I miss the times with mine but understand their lives have changed. Two youngest, one on a camping trip and one just returned from Florida with friends family, older ones in other states with their lives going forward.
Traveling in the past and now want to stay home by the woods and enjoy nature surrounding me is perfect at my time of life.

  8. I know the feeling. I leave for France and Italy in a week, and I'm looking forward to seeing my friends there..... but I also would like to just stay home. Good thing for me that Air France et al make it so hard to get any of my ticket money back.

  9. I have become a stay at home stick in the mud. Like you, I could not have imagined this a few years ago. Once I am away I am fine but truly, I’d rather sleep in my own bed.

  11. Yes, I think this may be the last year the youngest grand will play with us. Then again, an older one rejoined us for dinner the other night.
Yes, have a good trip and take lots of pictures. Hugs from the June Gloom.

  12. Last night was the first night I'd enjoyed in my own bed in 6 weeks. I say no more trips for a while but given the opportunity to go where you are going and seeing the grandkids, I'd be off like a shot again. Enjoy!

  13. Take your book and set aside an hour just for you to be alone in a beautiful new setting. You can have the best of both worlds.

  16. Travel doesn’t attract this body as it once did though the mind seems more willing. Enjoy your family!
