I have always been a curious person and have many questions this week (not necessarily in order of importance):
- Why did Pruitt try to buy a "used" Trump Tower mattress?
- Why did a Congressman get turned away from an abandoned Walmart building that is housing children separated from their parents who were crossing the border illegally?
- Why did Melania Trump have 700% longer time in a hospital for a procedure than normal and why have we only seen her many weeks later?
- Why were the Eagles uninvited to the White House to celebrate the Superbowl?
- Why is Medicare going to run out of money in 2026?
- Does Russia really have a smaller economic footprint than Italy?
- Do the bulletproof plates being given students actually stop bullets? (not AR-15 bullets or assault rifles)
- Is Bill Clinton extremely naive (and out of touch) to be promoting a "fictional thriller" book he co-wrote with Patterson.
- As Facebook gives us more control over the ads we see, does this mean they are going to be losing money?
- Why don't Americans know the difference between a reporter and a contributor?
- Why do we not teach financial literacy courses in public school?
- Do you ever forward your spam mail to abuse@name-of-company.com?
- Why war??
Interesting post. You read more news than I do.
ReplyDelete9. Not to worry about Facebook. The ads that do show up in the right hand column there are cursor sensitive, as you slide your finger over the touch pad, a page will open up the ad. I think that means you don't have to click on ads on Facebook for profits to be made.
8. The Paterson and coauthor book promotion is astonishingly in poor taste, IMHO. I don't watch the interviews, won't buy the book or click on articles about the book.
2. Separating immigrant children at the border from their parents makes the list for the most shameful things America has done to immigrants. It is mass child abuse.
3. I think if the First Lady needs time away, then let her rest.
Great questions, wish I had answers. #2 I think the US is running concentration camps for children, horrifying.
ReplyDeleteI can answer about the Eagles--all political. With only mascot, some coaches, and one or three players coming, it was not the team coming. I read until right before, it was 70. A setup and Trump saw it would not look good. Why only a week before the 'Summit'. Most of the players likely despise him. Why it wasn't set soon after the Super Bowl was what I wondered. Everything today is partisan.
ReplyDeleteThere are no answers. To any of the questions. Every answer to every question will elicit, if brought to the general public, will find a 55-45 split, often, closer, much closer. We are so polorized that even among your reasonable readers it would be neigh impossible for them to change their minds on any issue near and dear. Guns. Abortion,Immigration,Race.
ReplyDeleteIf we're looking at this country as a 'family', we're heading for divorce court, and it's going to be ugly.
It was good to see Melania today. Wonder where she’s been? I feel sorry for her but then again, she’s still there. How did she last this long?
ReplyDeleteNot a whole lot of answers here, but yes, sometimes i do forward what i suspect to be fraudulent emails to the company.
ReplyDeleteI think I have wondered about most of those questions myself. Wish we had answers to them all. I have questions and no answers, too. Sigh.
ReplyDelete2. because the border control, homeland security, and this administration doesn't want us to see what they are doing. 4. because Trump is a petulant child and the Eagles don't like him and likely wouldn't have shown up. 5. because the republicans have been raiding the SS and Medicare fund to pay for all the things they want...war, wall, Trump's golf weekends, etc... after cutting their rich buddies' taxes over and over. 7. what a joke. what, are the kids supposed to turn their backs on any shooter? no, the answer is no. those shields won't stop a head shot. 9. this one is easy...NO. 10. because Americans are ignorant and stupid and because republicans have been trying to destroy public education for decades and are succeeding. they don't want an educated and informed population. 12. no. 13. because it makes the rich richer and they never have to pay the price.
ReplyDeleteFor any of these questions: strange, immoral , horrible, greed.
ReplyDeleteIt's #2 that really boggles my mind. But as a Canadian, I try not to say too much about what I really think of the current USA.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am living in an alternate world, a FOX News reality show that is not real. Except it is...One day this madness shall pass. Hopefully in our lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s probably a security threat to ask any of your many questions and that likely is why we don’t have the answers. Or, at least this seems to be an excuse for many issues. Furthermore, even asking such questions just shouldn’t be done. We all need to learn that since one might think we lack confidence, or trust(?) in our leaders and their actions, or inactions.
ReplyDelete1. I didn't know about that one.
ReplyDelete2. The government is ducking the uglyness they created.
3. She was a lot sicker than we knew.
