On My Shoulder

I have been away.  Actually, I have been here but mentally away.  I just realized a day ago that I have been using two outdated software packages, while having purchased the upgrades, which for some weird reason were never installed.  I only recognized this when things got a little buggy.  So since I could not find the original downloads, I am spending a few days getting passwords to the commercial site changed, finding order numbers, serial numbers and completing downloads, and having no idea if I answered PC version number questions correctly.  Today I will spend time seeing if files I have saved will indeed recognize this new download and let me work.  The good side to this is that I have noticed new quick shortcuts to the software that I was not using!!

I just love computers, don't you?

Oh if you are wondering about the Blue Birds, they are still visiting and leaving calling cards at both the front and back of the house!!

  4. I have a love/hate relationship with computers - I love them when they work and hate them when they don't. I'm not sure I followed what you were doing at all, but I hope you are successful.

  5. My sympathies for your computer woes.
    The blue birds are lovely.

The robins that roost at night in the tree in front of my car sometimes leave a line of white splatter on the hood, over the windshield, hood, rear window, and right down the trunk. I prefer to think the word got out that bird calling cards bring good luck (mother told me it does), and they are just being supportive so I can win the lottery and move away. :)

  6. Lovely birds.

To err is human, but to really foul things up requires technology.

  7. Leaving calling cards is so thoughtful.

  8. Great bluebird pictures. I wish we could attract them here. They are in the main valleys and I've watched them feed their babies in a bluebird house outside a home we rented in Montana one year. I think they prefer meadows to pastures although i have no clear explanation why none visited the lovely little houses we put up for them. Swallows like the houses though...

  10. No bluebirds here, but wish we had them. Mockingbirds have staked out my surroundings as their area - keep a careful watch on my comings and goings. Used to dive bomb our dog when we had one -- was a birddog , ironically. Im not sure if they're the ones who leave occasional droppings on my car. I know the bees leave their yellow poop on my windshield.

  11. We are suddenly having many bluebirds in our area. I don't remember seeing as many in time past. Hope they are bringing me lots of happiness:-)

  12. I'm about to have a whole new computer set up. I got it for Christmas and still haven't done it. I need so much help and dread the disruption. Love your bluebirds of happiness. Remember the bluebird scene from the Kevin Spacey movie K-Pax?

  13. Love the birdies! We have cardinals around now. They are such noisy birds.
My luck is being married to a computer guy. Try as I may, I can't understand much about operating systems, software, etc. etc. but am good at other aspects of computer use, such as using social media, a process which really baffles Terry.
Right now Terry is copying all the thousands of out neighbor's digital photos onto a portable hard drive. He has removed the hard drive from the neighbor's computer and installed it into an " externaal hard drive enclosure case" he got on Amazon that copies everything over. To me this is magic. And to our neighbor as well!

  14. The typos! I think there is a virus going around that is causing an outbreak of typos! That's my excuse, anyway.
