The news each morning is just too depressing. I find my brain has fried and once I get it re-hydrated, I will return. I am waiting for those mornings when I do not think "What fresh new hell..."
Had a whole "I share your feelings" paragraph written, but erased it. Instead, I'll just say, make yourself have "joy breaks." Onward with the re-hydrating!
Yep. I know about wondering each morning. However I think my skin is getting thicker. I no longer feel like I have to gird myself with battle armor each day.
See ya in a week or so I slowed news time down over a week ago. I hear a snippet, watch a few minutes, read headlines, see the weather, and change the channel. I'm not eager to return after hearing about the wire tapping allegations.
I keep forgetting to log into my WordPress blog before coming here... If I don't log in first, anything I write here seems to go to the netherlands of computer text. i.e., vapor text. I rarely read the news, only watch 60 min. and don't watch it online. Healthier me, I would think. Otherwise, I worry myself over whether what I'm seeing/hearing/reading is true or not. Possible not... so I don't partake.
Preoccupation with other things helps. I watch the local news tho he watches the national. I try to remember to wear my sling and wiggle my fingers. School? What am I going to write. I'm ready to help with impeachment, but until then I'm busy.
I keep checking the news to see what the next craziness will be. Am always looking for who is standing up to it, trying to resist even if unsuccessful -- keeping track of who is going along and who S pushing the madness. Meanwhile focus on rest of life here for a semblance of sanity.
I wish I could stop watching but I can't.
ReplyDeleteThe CIA leaks are interesting, not in a good way, of course.
ReplyDeleteAnd every night I think, well it has to start getting better tomorrow. I guess otherwise I wouldn't sleep or perhaps I am just a slow learner.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts your way...
ReplyDeleteKnow whatcha mean, heading out tomorrow on a road trip meself.....
ReplyDeleteWe all need to recharge our batteries from time to time. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a bit of a news break would help, too.

ReplyDeleteGood news. Love the library!
DeleteThe only bit of morning news I listen to is the bit where he says "today's temperature will be..". That's all I need to know so early in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWe have cheery tiny green leaves on our trees.
ReplyDeleteJust little sips of water at a time really help. (:

ReplyDeleteI'll settle for the mornings when I just don't think, myself. Not forever, but... for a while.
ReplyDeleteYour phrase...."What fresh hell..." just cracks me up!
