Mage challenged me to black and white...more sophisticated and more artistic and something I rarely if ever do because I am a color freak. I took a walk around my garage to see what had the texture and structure for B & W. But as you can see I kept letting the color seep into these photos through the leaks of my brain.
I am a 'color' person also --and although I like 'some' B&W photos, I would ALWAYS choose color.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
Hugs,
Betsy
A great black and white image strikes me more than a color image, unless it's a remarkable color image.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteI forget about black and white most of the time, I think I have trouble turning what I see into something else. I really like the second to last shot with just a little of the colour added in. It looks soft and dreamy to me.
ReplyDeleteI find work in black and white stunning and dramatic. I think it might have something to do with essence, clarity and simplicity. I love good color and I also think that somehow because of the technology available today, the truth of an image is sometimes lost as color is fiddled with and enhanced.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on colour! Can't do black and white.
ReplyDeleteWell - once and awhile B&W - the rest of the time, I like a little color in my life.
ReplyDeleteI can only follow "one blog at a time" and decided on this one (rather than Room Without Walls) ... dunno why, I love the photos on both your sites.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good luck to your son's friends who are thinking of getting married. My mother, an Irish Catholic, married a nominal Protestant and her family was mortified. They had to get married in the church basement. But they made it work for 60 years. I know it's not the same, but nevertheless, those "mixed marriages" can work.
I think the top photo is very effective.
ReplyDeleteI am another color person, but black and white photos can pack a whole lot of emotional nuance.
ReplyDeleteYou know I am sitting here grinning.
ReplyDeleteI do b&w on occasion; it can be very effective.
ReplyDeleteNice. When I think to convert a pic to black and white I'm always surprised by the impact.
