The big culprit, the 30 foot pine tree, had been leaning for a year after the last storm and so when he finally gave his last sigh this morning he brought down a locust, a dogwood and a maple in front of him!! At least he left my bay shrub and the little landscape bed safe.
We are busy cutting wood, and hauling branches. See you later.

ReplyDeleteOh My---I hate storms --and they can do so much damage...I remember a year or two ago when high winds brought down a big tree behind our house (on the golf course property).. It took down 2 other trees when it came down.. That was the 'worst' storm we have had since moving here in 2003... We have so many trees around us... Scares me everytime we have a storm with high winds.

Sorry about your trees n all that extra work- I tend to mourn trees as tho they are friends. I suppose they do house your favorite birds.
ReplyDeleteThe winter freezes take down the trees and the summer storms take down the trees plus two years of drought have done a job on our trees. Thankfully our rural neighborhood is full of people who flock onto the property to help in order to get a nice share of the wood.
