ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is just a western thing or not, but years ago there was a painted pony contest and life size horses (not live ones, you understand) were decorated by artists. The horses were shown all over and I took my granddaughters to the Mall to see some of them.
ReplyDeleteNow you can buy the small replicas of them. They are called Painted Ponies. My son gave me one and I bought another one. I will not collect any more, but they can become addictive.
I enjoy looking at horses from afar. Artist renderings of horses are wonderful. Western movies are great for the thundering of horses hooves. But getting up close and personal with a horse if not my thing. Every time I've gotten near a horse it has injured me in some form or fashion.

ReplyDeleteI have a large collection of Breyer Model Horses- the size of those larger ones in the middle. I always want them all!
wait- I think the large ones may be "Comanche" size (like for Barbie size) I have one of those too-
