Unpacking Just to Pack Again

I had a wonderful trip in South Florida and in Jamaica.  I am back...but we barely got to our friend's house in mid-Florida to repack my husband's camp gear and canoe when we got a phone call that daughter was having problems with premature labor---6 weeks early.  We drove late into the night and then left Savannah, Georgia early the next morning and drove straight home.

I spent the hours of that evening unpacking and doing laundry and then early yesterday drove up here to my daughter's house to take care of her now that she is on bed rest for as many weeks as possible.

I should loose much weight in the coming weeks as the laundry room and coffee pot and my bedroom are in the basement, the kitchen and kids rooms are on the main floor and daughter is tucked away upstairs!  It seems they had four loads of laundry waiting for me and only odds and ends of food to cook, so, this morning I am heading out to the grocery to buy sustenance.  I have a renewed respect for those taking care of invalids!!  Daughter was glad to see me as she kept getting forgotten at mealtimes,  Hubby was so busy with the kids.

Working on the over 700 (!) photos that I took on my recent adventure, and I will post a few now and again as I wait for this third grandchild to grace us with (his I am guessing) presence.

  2. Oh dear. What a homecoming, and it sounds like you'll be dug in there at your daughter's house for some time. I'm sure she very much appreciates your presence, what a good mom and dad you two are. I hope the coming weeks bring good health to the whole family.

  3. Sorry you had to come back under these circumstances but am glad you're back.

I suspect you are going to have very little free time in the coming weeks but I'll hope you catch time now and then to post.

I hope the little one stays in the oven....sounds strange when written, but, you know, I hope, what i mean....Being a NICU nurse, tell that baby to stay put!

  9. So they don't know if it is going to be a boy or girl? You are such a good mommy. There was nothing better during my pregnancies than to see my mom walk through the door at all the difficult moments. Glad you are there to remember to feed her. You will be a twig when this is over with all those stairs. Bless your heart and everyone's hearts.

  15. Welcome home. Thanks for the update. So sorry about daughter - but I know that now mom and grandma are on duty - all will be well. Best of thoughts and blessings to you and all of the family. I pray the new little one arrives exactly when it is suppose to. My youngest (Jamie) was 3 weeks early at 6 lbs.

  17. What a shame and what bad luck for all concerned. If the image that you have posted, though, is an earnest of what's to come, we at least are in for a treat. Blessings to all of you.

  18. Lucky you, three floors are a good reason to lose a bit of extra poundage. You'll son get into the swing of things.

Hope all goes well with the new baby.
