Missed Opportunity

Since I began blogging I realized that I had joined a family of writers and photographers and cooks (some anyway) with interesting ideas to share. I may not agree with everything they say, but all of them do express it so well and help me stretch my mind. The photo above is how close I came to Colleen's town and had we not been in such a rush to cross the mountains before dark, I just might have driven through the little town of Floyd and stopped in at the local cafe! I have been reading about this special town for several years and I am sure that I would have spotted Colleen right on playing a game of Scrabble. Missed opportunities are the story of my life.

What does amaze me is how many times I come close to where some blogger lives!

  1. On our way back from our recent getaway in Huntsville, Linda and I went zooming right past the very little town of Dorcet where Lorac writes her blogs about the joys of cottage life.

And when we were in Peterbourgh recently steven rode his bike right by the hotel where we were spending the night.

So close, but we've yet to meet another blogger.

Maybe we should hold a convention and actually get to meet each other!

  2. I find that hearing the stories about the blogger and his/her town makes me long to visit the towns. Especially, the smaller towns.

I would like the opportunity to meet a fellow blogger one of these days.

  4. Wouldn't it be great if we could plan a trip and stop to see each and every one of them? I go near Floyd every time I go back home to Charleston, WV, but I'm always in such a hurry to get there - or get home.

  5. Rain and her husband visited me when they were in Tucson tending to the house they own here. It was really special to meet a fellow blogger.

Another blogger will be here next week and I am hoping she has time to chat.

Barry my be on to something. How about a convention in Las Vegas for bloggers?

  7. Darlene and Barry, good idea. Other bloggers have had mini-conventions. I love the desert!

  8. Tabor, you were less than one minute from my house!! I just took that same exact shot a couple of days ago. The cafe is another 6 or 7 miles in town.

  11. It's quite fun to meet fellow bloggers. When I went home last August, I met three and one of them became a very special part of my life. You know what I mean. Lol. :)

If you had met Colleen, you could have spent hours chitchatting like how old friends would. I'm pretty sure of that. But there's always a next time. So don't feel bad Tabor! :_

  13. I know the feeling. Back in February I ended up at a bar mitzvah where another blogger also attended, and never put two and two together until a few hours after the fact. I'm still kicking myself over that one. But there'll be other opportunities. For you as well, no doubt. :)
