Casting call
Thought I would further clarify my PC situation since it is so clearly compelling to my dwindling readers. I never did get the blue screen of death. My computer just kept getting slower and kept locking up on a few software packages and I thought it was just getting too old. It still is/was a fairly functioning computer. So guess I will use it a while longer.
I thought about switching to Apple but all my software is PC...what an expense.
On a totally un-related note is anyone as disappointed as I am that they chose Julia Roberts for the "Eat,Pray,Love" movie? I know, I know...you don't really care. But I see this person as an empty headed intellectual...not an empty headed flirt. I was thinking 0f Charlize Theron, Annette Benning, even Reese Witherspoon although she is a little young. If you read the book, I am sure you have other ideas of an actress with that pixie but sincere quality.
Clearly from this post you can see how desparate I am for my PC.

yes, I too had computer problems, and have had dwindling readers too. I may have 7, really, only 7. I guess if I wrote about interesting things, like politics, war, famine, I might have more readers...oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI will be visiting you soon.
My comments are dwindling, but the # of people visiting remains fairly constant. My computer is as slow as molasses (sometimes). I have to run maintenance and scans about every 2-3 days. It's scary.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to think about Julia in that role. I didn't know they were making that movie, but it should be a good one. I would picture a blond in the role, for sure.
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat the dwindling readers. We can be a fickle bunch.. but we always come home to roost. ;)
ReplyDeleteI read, Eat, Pray, Love and I also saw the author interviewed. I love Julia Roberts. I think she's a great actress, but I don't really see her in this role either. I'm not sure I can see Charlize Theron in the role either. Annette Benning would be a good choice, although she's older than the role would call for. It's a hard call. I think Julia will do a great job though.
ReplyDeleteWe are not dwindling. Bereft here too. Mine remains in the shop. I've adopted one of "his" new ones, and my old software fights with the new Vista. You didn't want to read that.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has computer problems often. At least I do. I wish they would make software interchangeable.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has an Apple and loves it. When this lousy Gateway dies I think I will forget the cost and opt for one with fewer headaches.
Yep - computer problems are an issue for those of us who like to write and do photography on line. I switched to a MacBook for my laptop which has been a bit a change-over but well worth it for the access to my photographs and ways to edit them when I am on the road. ALso, it is almost entirely virus-free - so that was a BIG plus after losing an entire hard drive to one!
ReplyDeleteYes, disappointed in choices for leading lady... but Hollywood has it's reasons which we probably cannot fathom.
Thanks for visiting me on my site... I'm a loyal reader of yours.
Maybe I'll have time to read something like that now. I'm writing the library down on my list. I think everyone's readers are dwindling. Only the die hard bloggers remain.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have readers. I'm pretty much the only one reading my blog.
ReplyDeleteI do visit yours often, but don't always comment.
We all seem to have sympathy for your PC problems because we have experienced them too. Thankfully my niece gave me her old laptop that is much newer than my desktop and I'm moving along smartly with it. Soon we will have to replace the big computer.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with the book, but I don't like Julia Roberts in any role. She has always frightened me with the big mouth grin.
My pc's not broken but my comments are readers are still dwindling. :) Take it easy. :)
