We ate baby back ribs, salad, corn on the cob and garlic bread on the deck the first evening followed by an angel food cake. The weather cooperated wonderfully. Early morning found Xman waiting for more food.

One look at our lawn that had been destroyed by the bulldozer removing the chain link fence and Xman decided we needed to do some more seeding.

And the "sweet memories" will just have to last you until next time> :)
ReplyDeleteI must get the brand and color of gold paint:) Sounds like it was great fun. Hope hubby enjoyed himself. Dave's BD was Sunday. That last picture was touching.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful warm photo journal story. I love the closing shot. It sounds like it's going to be a great place to live.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what you meant when you said, "no wonder you're good at scrabble."
I can't even imagine how exhausting this must all be for you and your family. Mentally sending some strength your way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful story, beautiful pictures.
I'll have to post my praying mantis story some time. Shiver.
Wow! Suddenly there's an Anonymous category back again so I can comment. Your house is beautiful, and it seems that grass is coming in. Wonderful occasion to christen the house.ML
ReplyDeleteThe last photo - touches your heart.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....that is really sweet. You should print this post out and save it!
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful and looks even nicer being lived in.
Tammy, I have the paint color in a bag in my car and I keep forgetting to get that out to those who ask...I'll try to remember. As it is the walls are too flat looking and I want more depth and maybe more ageing...so I am going to be looking at some follow-up treatment in maybe a curry or copper glaze or something like that. I just need more TIME!!!
ReplyDeleteposting this after reading the one above about the yellow paint:
ReplyDeletethe color here looks a tiny bit more "yellow" than it does above but still has the peach cast to it and is peachy looking here, too, more so than yellow. our family room is a very pale, buttery yellow...very pale, but definitely yellow. the white molding in our room makes the yellow seem a little more differentiated than it likely would without the white contrast, but there is no doubt that it is yellow. wonder how it would look in a photo...i may have to take one to see! :)
i like the color though, tabor. your house is already put together, and mine isn't after over 2 years! soooooo - wanna come help? ;)
