I took this picture about three years ago when we took a long fall weekend in West Virginia. It is not the high resolution version, I couldn't find that one. But, I think it does look a little like a greeting card and it makes me excited for the coming weeks.
I think this was the reason we would plan our visits to West Virginia in the fall. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's gorgeous! It looks sorta like New Zealand.

This reminds me of something that's not very interesting:
ReplyDeleteDown by Roseburg, Oregon, are some goats on a hill. Local people look at them as weather forecasters. When they're high on the hill, it's going to be nice.
When they drop down to about highway level it is going to rain. I don't know who's smarter, the people for figuring this out, or the goats for figuring it out first.
Ok, Hoss, why are we paying people at the National Weather Service so much when these forecasters work for grass?
ReplyDeleteOldhorsetailsnake has now reminded me of a local (or maybe not so local) weather rule-of-thumb as well ... Cows. If they're lying down, it's going to rain. If they're active (moving about a lot) it will thunder in the next 24 hours. If they're just standing, grazing - clear weather.
ReplyDeleteDarned if it doesn't usually pan out that way!
Beautiful picture!
